Team / Parent Communication & Feedback Protocol
At Joflow, we prioritize clear, consistent communication to ensure every athlete and family stays informed and supported.
Our Parent Communication & Coach Feedback Protocol follows these key guidelines:
Team Communication (WhatsApp): All primary team-specific updates, game times, and logistical announcements will be managed through dedicated WhatsApp group chats.
Coach Accessibility: Our coaches are committed to open communication. For brief updates or logistical questions, WhatsApp is the preferred channel. For more detailed discussions regarding a player's progress, we encourage scheduling a brief chat before or after training sessions.
Coach & Academy Contact Protocol: To maintain professional standards and ensure accurate information, please do not contact or message junior coaches separately. All inquiries, feedback, or concerns regarding your child’s development or team placement should be addressed directly to a Senior Coach or the Academy Management.
Professional Conduct: To maintain a positive environment, we ask that parents observe the "24-hour rule" after games before discussing competitive concerns with coaches, ensuring conversations remain constructive and focused on development.
How do I apply to become a Head Coach, Assistant Coach, or Team Manager?
We are always looking for passionate individuals to join the Joflow team and contribute to our community.
We have various volunteer and paid roles available to support our local competition teams:
Team Manager: Support your team off the court by handling communication, schedules, game-day coordination, and managing team logistics. A great role for organised, community-minded individuals.
Head Coach: Lead a Joflow local competition team with professionalism, purpose, and a passion for player and team development.
Assistant Coach: Support the head coach during trainings and games. This role is ideal for aspiring coaches, parents, or former players wanting to contribute and learn within a structured team setting.
If you are interested in any of these roles, please express your interest formally via this link: http://joflowbasketball.360player.club/staff-coaches
Can my child play for another team/club, even in a different age group or association?
No. Joflow Basketball Academy maintains a Strict Conflict of Interest Policy for the Winter 2026 season which requires exclusive club participation.
Players registered with Joflow for any local competition (Hills, Blacktown/Stanhope, Hawkesbury) are not permitted to join or participate in another external basketball club or academy team during the season. This includes training with another club, playing as a "fill-in," or participating in competing academy programs.
The only exception is:
Representative Basketball: Players selected for official BNSW Representative (Rep) programs are exempt and permitted to participate in both Joflow and their Rep commitments.
Playing Up (Within Joflow Only): Players may be offered the opportunity to "play up" in a higher age group, but this must be arranged internally through Joflow Academy management, not through an external club.
Failure to comply with this policy may result in suspension or removal from the program without a refund. If you are unsure about a specific activity, please contact the Academy directly for clarification.
Additional Team Player Registration
Play 2+ Competitions: If you want to double your game-day experience, you can now register to play for two or more Joflow teams (e.g., competing in both the Hills and Blacktown associations).
How to Register: Simply go to the Additional Team Registration on the right hand side.
